Fort Myers - Lisa Singh, an emergency department nurse at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, has been keeping spirits up in the ER for about five years.
That's when she began doodling caricatures of co-workers. "I doodled one of the doctors," says Lisa, who's always liked to draw. "One of my co-workers said 'draw me' and so while she was working I drew her and that's how it started."
Lisa estimates she's drawn about half of her colleagues who've come in and out of the department over the years.
"When you leave the department, your picture comes down," she explains. "If you come back, it goes back up as-is. There's no re-do and no second fixes. If your hair was short and you were overweight when I drew it, that's how it stays."
Lisa says she only puts up the drawings if a majority of the staff agrees it looks like the subject.
"It can get pretty stressful here," she says. "I think this just makes things a little lighter. It's just a way to have fun during our down time."
