TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - More and more Floridians are facing the threat of foreclosure.
There's one foreclosure filing for every 95 Florida households, and the state had the second largest number of foreclosures in the country last year.
Those who are finding themselves being foreclosed spent today in Tallahassee hoping their tell their stories to state leaders.
Members of the activist group called Florida ACORN who are facing foreclosure as the result of what they say are predatory lending practices demonstrated outside the Capitol by setting up makeshift tents. The group built what they call "Subprime City."
They want Governor Charlie Crist and legislators to support stronger consumer protection legislation to protect Floridians from predatory lending practices.
