FAA Computer fails causing flight delays at airports across the country

By WINK News

An FAA computer in Atlanta failed Thursday morning, causing flight delays at airports across the country.

The failed computer allows pilots to file their flight plans with the FAA.

The system -- the National Airspace Data Interchange Network -- appears to be the same system that failed in August 2008.

The FAA said flight plans are now being processed through the network's Salt Lake City, Utah, office.
