The Immokalee Foundation students recently spent a day at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers, experiencing the ballpark and watching the Minnesota Twins play the Boston Red Sox. Last November, TIF supporter Ted Nering attended TIF’s 2011 Charity Classic Celebration, where he placed the winning bid on an auction item – a day at the ballpark with the Minnesota Twins. It was a bid inspired by his grandchildren, Nicholas and Diana, who had their own hopes of attending a professional baseball game. The group took photos on the field, sat in the dugout, toured the press box, enjoyed the game in a private suite overlooking the park with lunch and received an official Twins baseball cap.
