Island Trends has launched a smartphone friendly m.islandtrends.com website to make it easier for customers to shop on the go.

“We have noticed a big increase in traffic from mobile devices such as iphones, androids and blackberrys over the last year,” says Chadd Chustz, director of internet marketing and sales for Island Trends, “And with smartphone sales soaring, we expect sales from smartphone customers to continue to grow.”

The new smartphone friendly Island Trends website will offer much of the same brands and products such as Robert Graham, Tommy Bahama, FitFlop, Nat Nast, Tori Richard and Tribal, but with a more simplified navigation menu and checkout custom built for smaller screen sizes. The popular ipad will not be re-directed to the mobile site.

“Our conversations with iPad users showed they prefer the conventional website layout because of their larger screen size,” says Chustz, “but were looking forward to hearing more customer feedback now that the mobile site has gone live.”

Island Trends is promoting its new mobile friendly website by offering 20% off regular price orders made by smartphones shoppers on m.islandtrends.com til the end of January 2011.
