Award winning journalist Rob Spicker anchors WINK NEWS NOW this Morning.
Rob joined WINK News in August of 2007 after spending nearly ten years at WFTS-TV in Tampa. He has been honored with an EMMY, Edward R. Murrow award and Society of Professional Journalists Excellence in Reporting. Rob has covered some of the biggest stories out of Florida including the 2000 election, abduction of Carlie Bruscia and Jessica Lunsford and the hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005. After Hurricane Charley, Rob spent a week in Punta Gorda bringing the stories of Southwest Florida's immediate reaction and recovery to viewers back in Tampa.
Rob's career has also taken him to Oklahoma City where he was involved in the aftermath of the Murrah Building bombing and covered the federal trial of Timothy McVeigh. He's also worked in Evansville, Indiana and Laredo, Texas. He is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from the University of Colorado.
Rob and his wife are happy to continue to call Florida home. They have twins in elementary school and a new baby boy.
His spare time is spent with family, enjoying the beaches and exploring Southwest Florida.
