Lindsay Liepman

Noon Anchor and Reporter

Lindsay Liepman is an Emmy award-winning journalist who joins WINK News as an anchor and general assignments reporter. You can catch her weekdays at Noon on WINK-TV. Although she is a native Texan, she's glad to make Southwest Florida her home.

Lindsay began her career as a reporter at KBTX-TV, the CBS affiliate in Bryan/College Station, Texas where she also attended Texas A&M University. There, she covered the anniversary of the Aggie bonfire collapse, severe weather stories and even President Bush's skydive at his 81st Birthday Celebration.

Lindsay moved on to Springfield, Massachusetts as the main anchor of WSHM-TV, the CBS affiliate. Life in New England took some getting used to, but Lindsay was able to connect with the community, in particular soldiers and their families. Lindsay created a series called "A Soldier's Story" to highlight the men and women fighting for our country.

In the summer of 2006, Lindsay and her husband Nick Spinetto, also a WINK Reporter, moved to Southwest Florida. They enjoy spending time with their dog, a Golden Retriever-Chow mix named Boston.

Lindsay has been honored for her work at WINK-TV, winning a prestigious Suncoast Emmy Award for Crime Reporting. She also won an Edward R. Murrow Award for her story "Witness Test" and she has been recognized by both the Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists.

As an advocate for cancer research and fundraising, Lindsay served on the Fort Myers Relay for Life Committee and was the Co-Emcee of the 2009 Cattle Barron's Ball, the biggest cancer research fundraiser of its kind in the state. Her Mother and Grandmother are cancer survivors. She's also active in her sorority Chi Omega and is an advisor for the new chapter at Florida Gulf Coast University.

Lindsay has covered stories of national importance, but it's the stories of ordinary people that she enjoys the most.
