Trey Radel speaks three languages, is well traveled, and has an impressive track record in the news industry.
Radel recently returned to WINK-TV after buying, publishing and eventually selling the Naples Journal, a community newspaper in Collier County. Prior to working as a Publisher, Radel spent more than five years with WINK News as a Collier County Reporter and Anchor. His fieldwork included a wide range of coverage, from countless hours covering the many hurricanes to in-depth, statewide coverage from Miami on how a free trade zone could impact Florida. Before coming to Southwest Florida, Radel worked for the CBS affiliates in Houston and Chicago. He began his news career as an intern at CNN Headquarters in Atlanta. Prior to learning from the best in the business, Radel majored in Communications and minored in Italian at Loyola University in Chicago. His time at Loyola included a full year abroad, studying European Politics and culture in Rome, Italy. While there, Radel traveled extensively through Europe, North Africa, and even the Middle East. After college and and during brief breaks from the news business, Radel has made time to "backpack" through Central and South America, where he mastered Spanish. More recently, Radel returned from a backpacking trip across Asia. Outside of work, Radel has performed improvisational comedy in Chicago and played guitar in a Rock band.
