Lois Thome co-anchors "WINK News at 5", "WINK News at 6:" and "WINK News at 7". She also co-hosts "Eye on Education at 5:30".
Lois joined WINK-TV in 1992 and since then has garnered many awards and recognition including: The Best News Anchor in Southwest Florida, the Phi Delta Kappa Lay Person of the Year, the Quill Pen Award from the Florida Association of School Administrators, was named a Woman in History from the American Business Women's Association, the Library Advocate of the Year by the Southwest Florida Library Network and was voted one of the top Women of the Year by Gulf Shore Life Magazine. Lois is very involved in her community. For years she has volunteered her time as a committee member for the Lee County Reading Festival, served on the Crystal Heart committee for The Girl Scouts of Southwest Florida, sits on the board of Gulf Coast High School's Sports and Entertainment Marketing academy...and spends many hours in our area's schools reading to children and mentoring students. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Public Relations, Lois worked in Madison and Green Bay in her home state of Wisconsin. Since moving to Fort Myers and joining the WINK-TV news team, Lois has covered several major stories including Hurricane Charley, the Columbine Shootings, the Oklahoma City bombing, the 1996 Republican National Convention and the Cuban refugee crisis.
