ESTERO, Fla.- Florida Gulf Coast University is already shining in the national spotlight, and tonight, it's time to wear the blue and green once again!

For the first time in school history, the men's basketball team will be part of ESPN's Midnight Madness.

Dunk City is kicking off its 2013 season in a historic way. They are one of nine college programs across the country ESPN is showcasing on Midnight Madness, but as the banner shows, for the Eagles, it's "Dunk City After Dark."

The event starts around 9:00 p.m. and will be a combination of scrimmages, a three-point shooting contest with the men's and women's teams. And of course, since we are at Dunk City, there is also a dunking contest.

FGCU's athletic director said with the Eagles' success on the court, it's been positive for the school and for Southwest Florida. "Dunk City After Dark" will be televised live on ESPN and admission free to the public.
