FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Washington Nationals may be close to moving their spring training home...but not to Lee County.
The Orlando Sentinel is quoting officials in Osceola County who say the Nationals are looking to move from near Melbourne to Kissimmee. That could happen in the next two or three years.
Lee County has offered City of Palms Park to the team, but the last demand from Washington would have cost the county about $35 million in improvements. Lee County leaders say they do not have access to that kind of money.
