ARLINGTON, Tx.- A week ago, no one knew who the Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles were. Dunk City didn't exist. No one thought the Eagles could make it to the Sweet 16, except the teammembers themselves.
"We did make history," said FGCU sophomore and point guard Brett Comer. "We feel like we shocked the world."
They took to the court for the first time in Cowboys Stadium this afternoon, and will face off against the University of Florida tomorrow night.
The Eagles arrived to practice in typical fashion: relaxed, dancing and confident in what they came to do. They practiced as 1,000 fans for various teams watched on.
Coach Enfield gave a press conference this afternoon, and said in part, "If you're going to be with the players and coaching staff and everyone has to live together, and spend hours and hours...it should be an enjoyable experience."
And the Eagles exemplify this.
The game begins tomorrow at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time.
