LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The University of Wyoming football player killed in a car accident this week is being remembered as a loyal, inspiring leader on and off the field.

And family, friends and coaches remember the engaging smile of Ruben Narcisse (nar-SEES').

On Monday, Narcisse and three fellow UW players were involved in a one-vehicle accident on their way back from visiting friends and family in Colorado when the driver fell asleep. Narcisse died before he could play a down for Wyoming.

The Casper Star-Tribune says religion was a focal point in Narcisse's life and he wanted to become a doctor.

Narcisse will be honored this weekend at his Miami high school and at Royal-Texas Stadium where Wyoming plays the Texas on Saturday.
