TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — One of the nation's most highly prized football recruits, Plant High School's James Wilder Jr., has orally committed to Florida State.

Wilder, whose father is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' all-time career rushing leader, announced his decision Wednesday during a news conference at his school in Tampa.

A two-way player, the 6-2, 220-pound Wilder, plans to play running back for the Seminoles. He had more than 70 offers but narrowed his choices to Florida State, Florida and Georgia.

Wilder played running back, linebacker and defensive end while helping Plant win the 5A state championship last year.
