PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt says he is comfortable with his decision to not hold defensive end Jabaal Sheard out of game action despite throwing a man through an art gallery's glass door during a fight last month.

Sheard read a statement to reporters apologizing for his actions, which resulted in him pleading guilty to disorderly conduct. He paid a $300 fine and is responsible for the other man's medical bills. Sheard also was subjected to internal team discipline that Wannstedt has not fully explained.

Sheard, a senior from Hollywood Hills, Fla., was suspended from the team while the case was being adjudicated, but will not be held out of any regular season games.
