MIAMI (AP) — Legendary Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden is coming out of retirement — at least in TV land.
Bowden plays himself on the upcoming episode of "The Glades," a character-driven crime drama set and filmed in South Florida. The episode, titled "Mucked Up," is scheduled to run at 10 p.m. EDT Sunday on the A&E Network.
Producers say the show's main character, Detective Jim Longworth, jumps into the competitive world of Florida high school football after the body of a dead businessman is found several days before a big game and a star player tops the list of suspects.
Bowden was head coach of the Seminoles from 1976 through last season. He announced his retirement in December, weeks after his 80th birthday. His Division I career record is 377-129-4.
