PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Roy Oswalt is going to pitch
for the two-time defending NL champion Phillies.
The veteran right-hander waived the no-trade clause in his
contract and approved a swap that sends him from Houston to
Philadelphia. The Phils are giving up pitcher J.A. Happ, prospects
and cash.
The Phillies have won seven straight games and began the day
trailing Atlanta by 3 1/2 games in the NL East.
The 32-year-old Oswalt was only 6-and-12 with the Astros,
despite a 3.24 ERA. He is a three-time All-Star and will join a
rotation that includes Roy Halladay.
