COLLIER COUNTY - A 62-year-old woman is arrested for attempted murder. Detectives say 62-year-old Margaret Johnson-Burton shot her rooommate at their home on 43rd St. SW in Golden Gate.
Detectives tell Wink News when they arrived at the home around 1:30am, they found Johnson-Burton standing outside covered in blood.
Inside, they found her roommate, 62-year-old Ronald Carrubba lying face up on the floor. He was bleeding profusely from gunshot wounds to his chest and to his arm. Collier authorities medflighted Carrubba to Lee Memorial Hospital where he is recovering.
Deputies confiscated a .38 revolver from the home.
Neighbors say they're horrified about the shooting.
"People get angry at eachother, cant imagine shooting eachother," said neighbor Don Walters.
Walters said the couple kept to themselves.
"As far as I can tell they seem normal."
Another neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, says Johnson-Burton started acting strange and distant since her husband died about five years ago.
A judge is holding Johnson-Burton on $250 thousand bond.
