ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush have announced the resignation of Florida Everblades head coach Malcolm Cameron.

Brush offered words of gratitude to Cameron, saying, "I want to thank Malcolm for his contribution over the past two seasons and wish him well in his future endeavors."

Cameron, 40, coached Florida from 2008 to 2010. In his first season with the Everblades (2008-09), his club claimed the Brabham Cup, best regular-season record, with a mark of 49-17-5. He finished with a record of 87-42-14 in two seasons in Florida and led the Everblades to the Kelly Cup playoffs in both years.

Malcolm Cameron said that after some soul-searching he realized that, "After being a head coach over the past seven years, I felt it was the right time to pursue other opportunities."

In both seasons, Cameron's Everblades were eliminated in the American Conference semifinals.
