FORT MYERS, Fla.- New Music Monday

Season 8 American Idol winner Kris Allen is out with "Horizons." Since his last album two years ago he has left his record label, was in a serious car accident and became a dad. This is his fourth album.

Making music locally, there's a unique event going on Tuesday at the Edison Ford Winter Estates, in the museum. There is a working prototype of the first Edison phonograph that not only can you se in action, but you can participate in recordings. In this hands-on demo you'll see how the sounds are recorded on metal foil then played back, if you love sound and history, this will be right up your alley. You can see and learn about the numerous types of phonographs in the museums collection.

Getting closer to the Love That Dress Party and there are two opportunities to donate and have some fun this week.

First one is Tuesday Iberai Bank Cape Coral is hosting a Funky Fashion Show showing off cool fashions that have been recycled and made from recycled materials. The party benefits Love That Dress and they are taking gently used dress donations

Thursday is Connect Networking's monthly gathering at Davis Art Center in downtown Fort Myers, the focus will be on PACE Center for Girls and collecting gently used dresses for Love That Dress. 5:30-7:30 you can rent a promotional table to get the word out on your business as well. This event does have a $6 admission price just to let you know, but there is also a presentation, food and lots more than just dress collecting
