FORT MYERS, Fla. - The school year is right around the corner and Southwest Florida schools are in need of supplies for their students. McDonald's restaurants in the area are kicking off a three-day school supply drive, which just happens to be on same weekend as the state's tax free holiday for school supplies.  Deana Homsi, owner of several McDonald's restaurants in Southwest Florida, and Marshall Bower, President and Executive Director at The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, join us in studio to talk about the drive and how the community can help.

Customers are invited to drop off new school supplies at the restaurants, with the supplies going to the school foundations in Lee and Charlotte counties.  The foundations will then distribute the supplies to schools in need and local schools in Collier County.
