FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Southwest Florida Adrenaline, the area's only professional team, is getting ready for its second soccer season.

Tryouts are underway and games start in about 10 days. The team has formed a partnership to develop young talent. The coach of the Adrenaline, John Robinson, is with us this morning for an update.

The SWFL Adrenaline play in the Southeast Division of the Southern Conference of the Premier Development League (PDL) of the United Soccer Leagues (USL). Two-thirds of the players selected in the Major League Soccer (MLS) draft have played in the PDL at one point in their early careers prior to being selected to play in the MLS.

It is an exciting time to be a part of the SWFL Adrenaline with the proposed development of the multi-sports complex featuring indoor training facility and outdoor stadium, as well as building on the Adrenaline inaugural 2013 season. This year the Adrenaline begin their home season with the first of 14 division games on Saturday, May 10 at 6pm at Barron Collier High School in Naples.

Led by Wales National Team member and English Premier League player John Robinson, the Adrenaline coach brings over 18 years of professional experience to the Adrenaline program.

Tryouts for the competitive program will be held at the end of May and announced shortly at www.swfladrenaline.com. Teams will be fielded from Lee and Collier counties and are open to any player that wants to work to achieve their goals of attaining a college scholarship and potentially playing professional soccer.

The Adrenaline plan includes bringing a professional soccer team to Southwest Florida that will play in the 7000 seat stadium that will be built in the multi-sports complex. If you have any questions, you can email Technical Director John Robinson at: jrobinson@swfloridasoccer.com
