FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Salvation Army is gearing up for its Christmas Cheer program and needs your help to make it happen.

The organization serving Lee, Hendry, and Glades counties estimates it will need enough food and toys to make the holidays brighter for roughly 3,000 families.

Toys are needed for boys and girls, up to ages 12. Those can be dropped off at the local Salvation Army sites including the main headquarters located at
10291 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers.

Since the Salvation Army is partnering with Toys for Tots, toys are being accepted at Toys for Tots drop sites, which can be found here.

On December 7, postal workers will pick up toys along their routes. Donors can leave unwrapped items at their mailboxes for collection.

In addition to toy distribution, the Salvation Army will be providing families in need with food for Christmas meals. Volunteers are needed to help sort and pack food.
