NAPLES, Fla. - There's a good incentive to add a four legged friend to your family.  October is adopt-a-shelter-dog month and Collier County Domestic Animal Services are helping several pups find a forever home.

Every day this month, its 40 dollars to adopt a dog instead of the normal 85 dollars.  There is also a featured dog each day that only costs 20 dollars to adopt.  Leaders hope it encourages pet lovers to make this commitment.

"That's how a lot of the animals end up here is folks don't realize how big of a commitment it is and you know they give up halfway through and then the dog ends up here looking for his home again," says Daniel Christenbury with DAS.

There are about 30 dogs up ready to be adopted right now.
