PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Kiwanis Shoes for Kids Project has donated more than 33,000 pairs of new sneakers to Charlotte County students in need over the past 8 years.

This year, the project's goal is to raise 4500 pairs before the new school year begins. The drive runs through July 21, but shoes will be accepted after that date.

Monetary donations are also accepted by the Sunrise Kiwanis of Port Charlotte at 1489 Market Circle, Unit 308, Port Charlotte, FL 33953.
