Cape Coral’s Red White and Boom is back to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Fireworks will once again fill the sky of the largest Southwest Florida city.

The annual event was canceled in 2020 because of the pandemic. Red, White and Boom takes place on Cape Coral Parkway at the foot of the Cape Coral bridge.

Organizers are asking the public to follow CDC recommendations in regards to attending a large-scale event.

The city said the event usually attracts 30,000 people.

Todd King, special events coordinator for the City of Cape Coral, said he thinks this will be one of the best firework shows yet.

“You can expect big fireworks because I’m loading up,” King said.

King said country music star Carly Pearce will be performing.

“We have cut a few things down just,” due to COVID, King said.

For example, the kids’ Patriot Park is a nogo.

Cape Coral resident Bill Metrovich said he’s already making plans.

“I’m excited about it,” Metrovich said. “It’s about time things opened up.”

Paul Lovendale, also of Cape Coral, said he’s happy to see some kind of normalcy again.

“I’d like to see it back to normal obviously like anybody else so it’s getting there and it will help,” Lovendale said.

The city said they will have free shuttles to take guests from downtown parking lots to the event.

The American Fireworks Spectacular begins at 9:30 p.m. and is a musically synchronized display and includes more than 4,000 shells exploding in the sky.

The event is free, but attendants can purchase VIP tickets.

VIP tickets went on sale on Tuesday.

Adult VIP tickets cost $35 and include a catered BBQ meal, two adult beverages or soda, access to a game area, face-painting are, a private section, air-conditioned restrooms and access to a prime viewing area for the fireworks show.

Kid VIP tickets cost $15.
