COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- A pedestrian was hit by a car and killed just before 6 a.m. on Thursday morning at the intersection of White Blvd. and 31 St. SW in Golden Gate.

The victim has been identified as 54-year-old Thomas Thompson of Naples.

Thompson was walking along the street when the driver of the vehicle hit him, saying he didn't see Thompson. There are no street lights on the road.

White Blvd. was closed down between 31 St. SW and Weber Blvd., but has since been re-opened.

No information is available on the victim yet. FHP continues the investigation.
