FORT MYERS, Fla- HOPE Clubhouse is a community resource that fills a significant gap in the opportunities previously unavailable for people living with mental illness in Southwest Florida. Our clubhouse offers opportunities for meaningful work, education, friendships, and access to housing in a supportive, caring, dignified and respectful community setting. Members of our clubhouse develop hope for recovery and achievement of their full human potential.
Award-winning journalist and nationally known mental health advocate Pete Earley will be in Fort Myers to discuss the need for mental health reform. Earley has testified before Congress twice and has authored 13 books, including "CRAZY: A Father's Search Through America's Mental Health Madness," which was a Pulitzer Prize finalist.
Luncheon speech in honor of Mental Health Awareness Week (October 2-8) hosted by Hope Clubhouse of Southwest Florida followed by a book-signing.
