FORT MYERS, Fla- The WINK News Now This Morning team all wore red Friday to support "Go Red for Women."

The American Heart Association campaign raises awareness that heart disease is the number one killer among women. Nearly 500,000 women die from cardiovascular disease each year. They hope this campaign will empower women to take charge of their heart health.

The morning team also wore red bracelets given to us by Ronald Oister of Naples. His father died after open heart surgery in 1980, he had a heart attack in 1999 and his 8 year old grandson died from an undiagnosed heart disease in 2007. Ronald sent us the bracelets to support February as "Heart Month" after meeting the WINK morning team at the Collier County Heartwalk.
