FORT MYERS, Fla- The new year brings now hope, and the question of what 2011 will mean for Southwest Florida's real estate market.
WINK News Real Estate Contributor Denny Grimes has some predictions on what to expect.
First Grimes says 2011 is going to be a great time to buy. The shadow inventory held by banks is going to hit the market and prices will come down because of it.
Second, Grimes believes there will be a modest gain in new construction. Niche builders he says will find customers who are taking advantage of incredibly low land prices.
And finally, Grimes says the year in real estate will come with mixed and confusing headlines. Sales comparisons he says may not make the first half of the year look great compared to last year but the end result should be much the same.
