ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - The father of two New Mexico teens accused of beating to death two homeless men says he and his family were once homeless themselves, and he says he has no idea what prompted the beatings.

The man's 15 and 16-year-old sons and the boys' 18-year-old friend allegedly took turns smashing the victims in the head with cinder blocks.

Another homeless man got away.

One of the boys told police they had attacked about 50 homeless people over the last few months.
