GRANBURY, Texas - National Weather Service meteorologists are currently conducting damage surveys from Wednesday night's severe thunderstorm outbreak. The very early data suggests that there were at least 10 tornadoes late Wednesday afternoon and overnight.
The National Weather Service says the preliminary storm estimate for Wednesday night's tornado in Granbury, about 40 miles southwest of Fort Worth, was an EF-4, based on the Enhanced Fujita tornado damage scale. That means the storm carried wind speeds of 166 mph to 200 mph.
