Police are providing new information about the shooting of a campus police officer on the campus of Virginia Tech University.

The Virginia state police is confident the shooter acted alone. They say they know who he is, but can't yet release that information, but will say he is not a Virginia Tech student.

Autopsies are under way right now on both his body and that of Officer Deriek Crouse. The university is planning to hold a vigil for Officer Crouse tonight.

Final exams, scheduled for today, are on hold until tomorrow. State police say they'll identify the suspect once his family is notified. They say it's likely he's connected to a carjacking in another town, not long before the officer was killed.
