MIAMI (AP) - Tropical Storm Harvey has formed in the Atlantic Ocean and is threatening to bring high winds and several inches of rain to parts of Central America.
Tropical storm warnings have been issued for the Bay Islands of Honduras, the coast of Belize and parts of the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. Watches are in effect for coastal Honduras and Guatemala.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said Friday that Harvey's maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (72 kph). The storm was centered about 125 miles (201 kilometers) east of Isla Roatan, Honduras. It was moving west at 12 mph (19 kph).
Meanwhile, far out in the Pacific, Greg has weakened to a tropical storm and is expected to dissipate in the coming days.
