KENNETT, Mo. (AP) - Authorities in southeast Missouri say they've found remains believed to be those of missing 3-year-old girl Breeann Rodriguez.
A joint statement sent Tuesday night from prosecutors and law enforcement officers say the girl's body was found near a series of ditches about eight miles southeast of her home in Senath, Mo. The remains were found by a Missouri State Highway Patrol officer searching by boat.
Breeann was reported missing Aug. 6. She was last seen alive riding her tiny pink bike with training wheels.
Police say a neighbor, 43-year-old Shawn Morgan, has admitted suffocating her after finding her near his backyard pool. Morgan made a brief court appearance Tuesday and faces arraignment on first-degree murder and other charges on Aug. 30. He remains jailed without bond.
