BALTIMORE (AP) - Authorities in Maryland say they have not yet determined how a North Carolina teen died after her body washed up in a Maryland river months after she vanished.

Police confirmed Thursday that a body found in the Susquehanna River a day earlier was Phylicia Barnes of Monroe, N.C. She was 16 when she went missing while visiting relatives in Baltimore over the Christmas holidays.

Police say there were no signs of injuries or wounds on Barnes' body when she was found about an hour drive northeast of where she was last seen.

The body of man pulled also was pulled from the river hours after Barnes' body. It is not clear if there is any connection between the two.
