WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A father accused of trying to kill his 10-year-old son by dousing him with chemicals has pleaded not guilty.
Fifty-three-year-old Jorge Barahona made a brief court appearance Friday. His badly injured son was found in his truck along Interstate 95 on Monday. The boy's 10-year-old twin sister was discovered dead in the back of the pickup.
Barahona is charged with attempted murder. He has not been charged in the girl's death, but court documents say he told police he was distraught after loading her body into the truck and wanted to kill himself.
He is now being held without bail.
Barahona's public defender, James Snowden, did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
