BARTLES, Ohio (AP) - An Ohio sheriff says five people who died in a house fire included three females, a male and an 8-month-old infant.
Sheriff Jeff Lawless in Lawrence County in far southern Ohio did not know the baby's gender or the ages of the others killed early Monday.
Spokesman Shane Cartmill with the Ohio fire marshal's office says seven other people were injured, while a fire dispatcher said six were hospitalized. The sheriff says the injured were taken to King's Daughters Medical Center in nearby Ashland, Ky.
Authorities say the house in Elizabeth Township had 12 bedrooms, and Lawless says he believes it was a single home.
Cartmill could not confirm the living arrangements and says it's also too early to say how or where the fire started.
