SPRINGFIELD, Co. - Storm chasers got within 50 yards of a tornado around Hwy 287 in Springfield, Colorado.

A thunderstorm over the southeastern plains of Colorado Monday prompted tornado warnings in Baca County. One Baca County dispatcher said there were no immediate reports of damage or injury.

The National Weather Service says a storm chaser spotted one funnel cloud in a storm 20 miles west of Springfield. In Campo, a rural area, a few outbuildings were damaged and some power poles knocked down.
