TRIPOLI, Libya - A Dutch Foreign Ministry official says that the 9-year-old boy who is the sole survivor of a plane crash in Libya has been told that his parents and brother died in the disaster.
The ministry official, Ed Kronenberg, says Ruben van Assouw was told the news by his aunt and uncle in the hospital where he has been treated since the crash, but says he has no further details.
Kronenberg also confirms that the boy will return home to the Netherlands on Saturday.
