ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - PEYTON'S PLACE: Manning started out slowly in the team's annual summer scrimmage but recovered to throw a 9-yard TD pass to Eric Decker on his final snap. Overall, Manning looked sharp and his decisions were sound.
HOW'D HE DO?: Manning was a machine in 7-on-7 work before the scrimmage, and he checked out into a deep pass play in which he hit Andre Caldwell for a 60-yard score. Manning didn't move the team in the scrimmage until his final drive.
MANNINGMANIA: Manning's first appearance in blue and orange at Sports Authority Field drew 41,304 fans, almost double the old record of 20,782 set two years ago when Tim Tebow was the main attraction.
TALKING MANNING: "I think it's very beneficial. Certainly the guys that I kind of hang out in the room with at night, it's (Brandon) Stokley and (Joel) Dreessen and (Jacob) Tamme, and for all of us, it's our first time here. Stokley, it's his second tour here, but for the rest of us, it's our first trip, so it's all new to us." - Manning on the benefits of scrimmaging at the stadium.
