MARCO ISLAND, Fla.- A 42-year-old Marco Island man was critically hurt in a landscape truck accident on Friday.

Marco Island police say they arrived in the 1200 block of Mistletoe Court to find a man critically injured, lying in the road and receiving medical treatment from emergency responders. The man was flown by helicopter to Lee Memorial Hospital.

Police say the man was sitting in the back of a landscape truck's semi-enclosed cargo-body and was leaning against the cargo gate when he fell out, and was hit by the trailer the landscape truck was towing.

Shattuck Lawn and Landscape operated the truck and trailer.

The man's identity has not been released.
