COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- The Collier County School District has concluded its investigation into the events that transpired at the Immokalee/Naples football game on September 7.
The district determined that the Immokalee Coaching staff did not engage in wrongful conduct.
As a result of the findings, Coach Rodelin Anthony resumed his teaching and coaching responsibilities at Immokalee High School. Anthony was taken off the sidelines after a brawl at a match-up with Naples High. The confrontation was between Anthony, some Immokalee players and fans who were reportedly heckling the team from the stands.
The district cannot release the names of students who may be subject to disciplinary action as any disciplinary action would become part of their student record. Because of threatening behaviors brought to the district’s attention during the investigation, the district did take action to prevent certain spectators from attending future Immokalee High School football games.
