ESTERO, Fla. - From pumping up the fans to annoying the officials, it's the mascot that seems to have all the fun at any sports team.

WINK News was given never-before-seen access to the Florida Everblades fan favorite, Swampee.

Guts, heart, and determination are some of the characteristics that makes Swampee one of the premier mascots in the ice hockey world.

But if you though it was all fun and games, think again. This gator is a professional, getting instructions from team managers before every game.

From there, Swampee is all business. As the face of the Florida Everblades, he takes his laps around the arena, mingling with fans, and making sure everyone who comes to Germain Arena is ready for the best night possible.

When the lights go down and the fans take their seats, only one person-- or reptile-- takes the ice before the puck drops.

Whether it's tossing souvenirs, hasselling the officials, antognizing the other team, or just getting the everblades off to a great start, this gator is just as important to the team, as anyone else.
