LEE COUNTY, Fla.-- FGCU is looking into what it would cost to field a football team. 

An FGCU spokesperson tells WINK News the university is having an outside consultant do a study on what it would cost to build a football program.  While this does not mean that the school is starting football, this will be the first time that the university has had anyone do a detailed analysis of what a football team would actually cost.

Any costs would be paid for using private, donor funds.
