Helping Florida’s threatened shorebird population during nesting season911 calls released after robbery at Saks Fifth Avenue in North Naples
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Thanksgiving is a day meant for giving thanks and the opportunity to help others. The Community Cooperative Ministries (CCMI) handed out hundreds of meals Thursday to people who otherwise wouldn’t get them. The assembly line of food was running fast and furious all morning, starting at 6 a.m. Volunteers cooked up some fresh stuffing, sweet potatoes, and of course, turkey. All of the food was donated by the community, or cooked by volunteers. “Everyone from the community, schools, churches, have come in to donate their time getting ready for the wonderful holiday. The outpouring of donations is overwhelming. We are proud to be a part of community cooperative,” said volunteer Stacey Murdock. CCMI runs events throughout the year.
