WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) – Police in South Florida have arrested an inmate who escaped from prison on Halloween. The Florida Department of Corrections reports that West Palm Beach police captured 39-year-old Ronald McCoy Monday evening, following up on a tip received by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He was still wearing his prison uniform. Officials say McCoy escaped from Dade Correctional Institution in Florida City on Friday morning. FDLE agents believe he hid in a trash bin leaving the prison. McCoy is serving a life sentence for an Alachua County robbery with a deadly weapon.
