FORT MYERS, FL.-A plan to build a lavish high rise along the downtown Fort Myers waterfront  just got a big boost tonight.

We're talking about a third tower at the Oasis complex.

Tuesday evening, Fort Myers city council voted to extend the plans of building the third oasis tower to ten years.
The original permits were set to expire this month.

"This allows us to go back and refresh all the designs and plans  which are 10 years old now," said Neil Morley with Lofton Island Developments.

Morley says if the market cooperates, the third oasis tower could start going up in three to four years.

"All the planning has to sometimes takes 3-4 years, so we will start doing the plannings and the drawings and all the architectural engineering stuff now," he said.
