CAPE CORAL, Fla.- People are demanding more options for Southwest Florida mothers when it comes to how they give birth.

More than a dozen people were holding signs outside a hospital this morning.

Protestors tell WINK News C-sections are overused and that more mothers should be able to give birth naturally instead of through a surgical procedure.

"What we really want is evidence-based care, and for moms to be able to make the decision about what's best for them and their babies based on what they think is best for them and their babies, not based on what hospital policy dictates," rally organizer Megan Nickel-Martin told WINK News.

According to the protestors, they are not trying to point out any specific hospital in our area. They say they want to bring attention to a national problem.
