FORT MYERS, Fla.- A 35-year-old man is still in the trauma center at Lee Memorial Hospital after being stung possibly hundreds of times by aggressive bees.

The victim was cutting the grass at a home yesterday evening on the 1000 block of Heiman Ave. when the homeowner says he believes the vibrations of the John Deer tractor aggravated a large beehive located in the walls of a shed in the backyard.

The homeowner watched in terror as the bees swarmed the man, took him to the ground, and stung his entire body, especially his face.

The man was unable to breath as his throat was closing off due to the swelling.

The homeowner grabbed his garden hose and sprayed the man and the bees but they began to attack the elderly homeowner as well, stinging him dozens of times.

The homeowner called 911 and rescue crews assisted both men.
